In-vivo experimentation

Ocupharm Diagnostics has been carrying out experiments in a lagomorph model for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries for more than 10 years.

We provide a comprehensive system adjusted to the client’s needs.

The protocols are designed in conjunction with the client to respond to their expectations and needs. We have the facilities, personnel and necessary accreditations to carry out experimentation in an in-vivo model.

Irritation test

Eye and skin irritation test of ophthalmic products in an animal model.

Kinetics and pharmacokinetics

Determination of the qualities associated with the “delivery” and penetration of drugs and health products via ophthalmic means, associated with the Medical Device or instillations. Generation of graphs related to dose-response, detection in target tissues and access to systemic routes.

Impression cytology

Sampling, processing, analysis and quantification of goblet cells in ocular conjunctival tissue impression cytology. This allows the degree of dry eye to be evaluated.

Determination of the ability to repair wounds in corneal tissue of ophthalmic products designed for this purpose. Determining the movement and multiplication capacity of cells.


Assessment of the ability to reduce inflammation in ocular tissues by determining specific markers (IL-6, IL-8 and MMP9) using PCRrt technique.

Proteomic quantifications by KIT ELISA of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 and MMP9.
